A B O U T M E

I am a folk musician from County Leitrim in rural North-West Ireland. I try to tell stories in my songs, both my own and others that have been shared with me. Sometimes I approach this very directly by recounting real experiences, and sometimes less directly through observations, conversational narratives, or from others' imagined perspectives.

I have always had a love of art and music in particular. There are strong traditions in the locality where I grew up, with a local theatre for drama in Carrigallen, several folk clubs, and strong traditional Irish music. This led me to playing the tin whistle and flute as a child before moving towards the guitar and singing when I was teenager.

I performed regularly up until COVID-19, which led to me taking a four-year break from performing. However, at the end of 2023, a few personal revelations and some local musicians inspired me to start performing again in February 2024, this time focusing on my own music.

I had always written songs but felt I had reached a point where they could really add value to the folk music scene, and I had a firm belief they would connect with people due the descriptive and story-like lyrics paired with simple and soft melodies.

Since then, I have been gaining fans quickly, with my following on social media platforms growing by over 5,000 since June 2024. I have now played several shows in amazing venues such as Whelans, the Four Provinces Folk Club, and the Corn Mill Theatre, and have played all over the country, such as such as the Ambient Music Showcase in Cavan, Anam Festival in Kerry, the Corn Mill Theatre in Leitrim, as well as several gigs in Dublin in venues like the Sound House, Whelans, Jacob's Inn, and others.

I have been described as having “a beautiful voice and even more beautiful lyrics. Eoin will have you swooning like a kitten after a fish in a rope”, and I was recommended by Christy Moore on social media as one to watch.

My music has been played on radio stations such as BBC Scotland, Midlands Radio and Ocean FM. This year, I released a single called ‘Tell me’ in April, which was chosen by Hot Press as one of their favourite releases at the time, followed by an EP in May titled 'About June'. I have recently finished another project and will be releasing more music in the coming months.

With my focus on love, loss, life, emigration and other topics, I hope there are insights for everyone to enjoy from hearing my songs.
